Fantastic Four #77 by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby
Galactus goes from forlorn to a frightened freakout. Again, Kirby gets across the fear and forceful exhortation without need of text, for the pull at the corners of his bottom lip show the straining shout; the eyes, wider and with heavier upper corner blacks imply raised eyebrows on a figure with none (note also the greater curvature of the eyemask framing of the helmet when comparing the drawings, as it also amplifies the wide-eyed craze). Joe Sinnott’s inks over Kirby’s pencils? Magnificent.
